arts, crafts, antiques and a variety of food and entertainment.
We'll even chauffeur you to the Market Days gates and back.
Downtown Wimberley also offers quaint shops which are fun to
explore and contain many treasures. And for professional shoppers,
Gruene and the outlet mall in San Marcos are a necessary stop
on your way to or from Wimberley.
Climbing
Wall
Exclusive to our Great Escapers, our Climbing Wall is 42’
tall and provides a beautiful view of the rolling hills we are
so proud of. Put on a harness and put away your fear of heights!
We operate this as a “challenge by choice” course,
allowing every individual to set their own goal and pace for
climbing. The zip line is considered a separate activity for
all the thrill seekers out there! After climbing to the platform
above our climbing wall, the rider zips to a landing pad across
the gulley.
Horseback
Riding Our Horseback Program
has produced three national champions! And the horses used in
our riding program have been trained just as our show horses
have. We have a large arena, small arena and pasture with competent,
gentle and well-behaved horses for supervised trail rides. From
novice to expert — we will match the horse, the ride,
and the group to each rider's ability.
Swimming
Pool
The beautiful swimming pool at Rocky River Ranch is 30x55-feet
… large enough to accommodate group activities. Built
on the bluff overlooking the Blanco River, the lovely setting
and functional design make it the perfect place for swimming
and soaking up the sun or having a pool-side party. Certified
lifeguards are available with advance notice. Above the pool
is the Big House, where Executive Director, Rue Hatfield, resides.
The stone house was built in the 1920s and the grounds and large
back porch beckon you to swing in the hammock and read a book,
take a nap, or sit and watch the river roll by.
